Halki e Alimia
The rectangular and rocky island of Halki, 5 miles west of Rhodes, offers limited possibilities of mooring, except for daily stops. The heart of the island is the port, Emborios that offers a floating dock from which you can enjoy the magnificent view of the traditional and perfectly restored village resembling the more famous Kastellorizo. A peaceful village boasting colourful houses, dotted with cafes, local restaurants and grocery stores, where time seems marked only by the daily arrival of a gigantic ferry. The ancient village of Chorio, set on a hill dominated by the castle of the Knights of Saint John, deserves a visit to enjoy a 360° degree view on the barren coastline of Halki. 1 mile East of Halki, the spectacular and unhinabited Alimia boasts a large closed and well protected bay where visitors can indulge in long swims to admire the enchanting sea bottom or in relaxing walks among the ruins of a military outpost still partly covered with graffiti made by the German soldiers during WWII.
